How Celebrities Are Styling Leather Jackets

Posted: 1st December 2016 in , , ,

This transitional weather can mean that one day it’s fairly mild and then the next everything has a layer of frost on top. This is what we like to call leather weather. It’s the perfect time of year to be wearing your leather jacket or if you haven’t already got one, it’s time to think about purchasing one.

Not sure how you can be styling your leather jacket this season? We have scouted your favourite celebrities rocking a variety of different styles of leather jackets and we’ve added recommendations on how you can be recreating their looks with leather jackets from Hidepark.

Tom Hardy’s Sheepskin Jacket

Tom Hardy

Tom Hardy has become one of the most recognised and prolific actors of our time, after starting out as a male model back in 1998. Working on everything from Academy Award nominated movies to reading bedtime stories on CBeebies, his is a face that many are familiar with, and he’s loved by all.

His looks and charm have turned him into something of a style icon, and we really can’t argue with that. Here, in a photoshoot for Esquire, he showed of this rather fetching shearling sheepskin leather jacket, complete with fur-trimmed cuffs and hem.

If you want to achieve the same style, we’d recommend our B4 Sheepskin Flying Jacket. You can wear it open, like the ruggedly handsome Tom does, but it looks just as good fastened up.

Idris Elba’s Fitted Jacket

Idris Elba

Known primarily for his work on The Wire and Luther, but equally as accomplished in the film industry, Idris Elba is another actor that just oozes style and charisma. Nobody looks as good in a suit as Idris does, and the same can be said when he’s rocking a leather jacket.

And there’s plenty of reasons you might want to look like Idris. GQ Magazine’s 50 best dressed British men. People Magazine’s 100 Most Beautiful People in the World. Essence Magazine’s Sexiest Man of the Year. These are not to be sniffed at, and just cement how much of a style icon he’s become.

Here, he’s seen wearing his very own IdrisTM Jacket, but you can just as easily recreate his style with the Budd Mens’ Leather Jacket right here at Hidepark!

Sarah Jessica Parker’s Flying Jacket

Sarah Jessica Parker

After appearing on Sex and the City as fashion journalist, Carrie Bradshaw, Sarah Jessica Parker quickly cemented herself as a fashion icon as well. Similarly to her character in the show, Sarah has always had her finger on the pulse when it comes to what looks good, and has been the face of many brands because of this.

When not on the red carpet, Sarah is regularly caught wearing one of her many leather jackets, cementing it as a necessity within any person’s wardrobe.

If you want to recreate her look here, you can’t go wrong with the Lena Leather Flying Jacket. With it’s removable fur collar, you can instantly transform it into a jacket worthy of Sarah Jessica-Parker herself. It may not be the same colour, but brown is in this year, and we personally think it looks better anyway…

Jeremy Piven’s Leather Jacket

Jeremy Piven, well known for his role in the TV series Mr Selfridge, has been seen sporting a classic deep brown leather jacket, paired with navy jeans and a plain t-shirt to create a relaxed rustic look.

To recreate this look, we recommend going for our Alex jacket. This stylish yet classic piece should fit the bill perfectly. As it’s such a classic style, it’s easy enough to dress up or down for whatever occasion you’re heading out to.

Helen Mirran’s Biker Jacket

Blonde bombshell, Helen Mirren, rocks her feminine cut leather jacket with a bright bold lip and simple black dress, for a simple but strong statement.

If you want to go for this classic look, we would recommend wearing our Lisa black leather jacket that has been hand waxed to give a matt satin finish, very similar to what Helen is wearing here.

Bradley Cooper’s Antique Leather Jacket

You can’t go wrong with a classic black leather jacket. Bradley Cooper has opted for a casual look, pairing his jacket with dark grey trousers and a lighter grey t-shirt. Want to rock this look? Our Budd black antique leather jacket is a great match; the pockets and collar on it is an almost exact match to his.

Jane Krakowki’s Chic Jacket

Jane Krakowski has been seen going for a country chic look by going all out with leather look trousers, leather boots and bag.

Removing the detachable collar from our Laura jacket creates a very similar look. If you aren’t daring enough to go all out leather, simply change the leather look trousers to black skinny jeans with a pair of knee high boots.

Gordon Ramsay’s Casual Leather Jacket

Gordon Ramsay

Say what you will about hot-headed Michelin Star chef Gordon Ramsay, but there’s no denying that once he’s changed out of his chef whites, the man has style.

Another regular occupant of Sexiest Men Alive lists, Gordon’s style is one that is distinguished and distinct, and he looks great in a leather jacket to boot.

Seen here out-and-about in a casual brown jacket, it’s easy to see why he’s loved by so many. If you’re wanting to steal the style of the most recognised chef in the world, why not try our Franco Mens’ Leather Jacket in brown (also available in black)? This month it’s been reduced to £125 as one of our season specials.

Pierce Brosnan’s Long Leather Coat

If you prefer the country style, Pierce Brosnan has been seen wearing a long dark brown leather coat, paired with blue jeans and a fleece jumper for an extra layer of warmth. Our Brett men’s dark brown leather jacket is a great all-rounder that can be worn in all but the warmest weather, when you’re out and about, commuting to work, or supporting your team from the sidelines at the weekend.

Jennifer Aniston’s Biker Jacket

Friends star, Jennifer Aniston, has been seen wearing her leather jacket this season. To keep herself extra warm and to add more colours to the look, she has simply added a purple and taupe scarf. This look is easily achievable with our Wendy black biker jacket, with its beautiful feminine cut and stitch details on the sleeves and shoulders, you can’t go wrong. Grab your favourite scarf and you’re ready to go.
