Earlier this month, the Government urged the UK to work from home where possible to avoid the spread of Coronavirus across the country.
Thousands of people in the UK will be setting up offices in their own homes, but following our new research we have found that many will be adopting a new take on office clothing.
In the last seven days alone, Google searches in the UK have spiked for search terms like ‘slippers’, ‘loungewear’, ‘joggers’ and ‘dressing gown’, indicating a new way of dressing for work.
The new ‘uniform’ might be great for productivity as personal stylist and style coach, Lisa Newport explains:
“When working wear whatever gives you “comfydence” in that setting, so whether that be working from home or in the office. Comfydence is about being comfortable and confident in the situation or environment, so it’s no doubt that people are opting for these items.
“The term comfydence actually means different things to different people depending on what their base level is.”
We also found that the terms ‘blankets’, ‘desks’, ‘online games’ and ‘how to work from home’’ all increasing in momentum in the last week, as people across the country adjust to a new way of working.
